Chef Andrew Miller

Who?

Chef Andrew Miller

Position?

Chef, lil Eatily at Truck-Side Food Truck Food Court

Since?

May 2013

Why'd you want to work with us, and what's your favourite part about it?

"I wanted to start working at the original Cheese Curds because of the fast paced environment. I saw lots of opportunities to advance in the company.

My favourite part of working at Cheese Curds/Truck-Side has been the opportunity to advance from working in the dish pit all the way to running lil Eatily. I continue to learn from a lot of talented chefs which has given me the chance to grow as a cook myself. I enjoy watching how Bill's company has grown from one Cheese Curds to many different restaurants and trucks. I am glad I have been part of the expansion."

Future aspirations?

"My future goals include continuing to grow as a chef. I would like to become a red seal chef, such as the ones I am learning from today."

Hobbies?

"My hobbies include fishing, watching UFC, outdoor sports and being adventurous. I also enjoy singing while I cook, although I am not sure my co-workers enjoy it as much as I do"

Our thoughts

"I've watched this young man grow after spilling oil on himself on his first day of work, bounce back and become a great grill cook. After a year and a half in Woodside he wanted to learn more about our other styles of cooking. He followed me to the new Burnside location and became a supervisor in one of our new trucks, lil Eatily. Andrew is a silent type, with a get the work done attitude and will fix any problem he's faced with and has excelled as a supervisor.

He has learned all of Truck-Side menus, but still calls Cheese Curds his real home. I can call on him for any grill shift and he gladly accepts them. But bringing the chef of lil Eatily out of his comfort zone never surprises me when he goes back. We all call him the "pizza man". Congrats Andrew, very well deserved."
